Shakatak Sportswear is an East London based clothing manufacturer, specializing in the manufacture and supply of sportswear, jackets and corporate clothing. Shakatak Sportswear was established in January 1996, and has a staff compliment of 72 employees. Our factory and sales outlet, as well as our newly opened showroom, are situated together in Dyer Street, Arcadia, East London.

Whilst we supply retailers country wide, we also do our best to cater for individuals. Our vision is to supply the South African and overseas markets with quality sportswear, jackets and corporate and promotional clothing at the right quality and price.

Sportswear, Jackets, Corporate Clothing & Promotional Items

Our core function is the manufacture and supply of sportswear, jackets and corporate and promotional clothing to the corporate sector, schools and clubs, as well as to various retailers countrywide.

We manufacture tracksuits, jackets, security jackets, rugby jerseys, netball and bowling shirts, sports kits, golf shirts, Shakamac’s, high performance swimsuits and life jackets. We also supply caps, T-shirts, bags, knitwear and promotional items.

All our products can be supplied with our client’s branding in either embroidery or screenprinting. Besides our locally manufactured Shakatak and Shakamac brands, our other brands include Barron, Altitude Leisurewear, The Jefferson Collection, Caps Direct, Bags & More and Promogifts.

SHAKATAK SPORTSWEAR CLIENTS

Shakatak Sportswear supplies schools, clubs, corporate entities, many security companies, various municipalities and Government departments.

The Eastern Cape Government, Buffalo City Municipality, Rhodes University, Bhisho Training College, hundreds of schools including Selborne College, Clarendon Girls Primary and High, Hudson Park Primary and High, various sports clubs including Buff’s Club, Old Selbornians Club, Cambridge Club and Police Club list among our clients.

SHAKATAK SPORTSWEAR AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

Shakatak Sportswear, in conjunction with SEETA, are also in the process of setting up a training school for machinists and cutters. Schools in East London and Port Alfred have been earmarked for this project.

We are committed to the training and transfer of skills in the Eastern Cape Province to assist in the development of the labour force in our province. The spin-off for Shakatak Sportswear is that our employees will also have the opportunity to continuously improve their skills.
